Anek Lines is a navigation company created in 1976 by Crete Island citizens as they wanted their own company to connect the island to the continental part of Greece. The first ferry, called “Kydon”, travelled on the route Pireus Chania (Crete). Nowadays, the fleet is composed by 10 ferries, each one has every comfort possible; these modern ships contributed to establish Anek Ferries as one of the leader in passengers transportation from , Greece to Crete. All the ferries meet the requirements of the European Laws concerning safety and pollution control; all the ships have the ISM CODE certification for security. Since 2011, Anek works with Superfast Ferries to offer a better and more complete ferry service from Ancona to Igoumenitsa and Patrasso. Anek’s main routes are: Ancona-Patrasso, Ancona-Igoumenitsa, Venice-Patrasso, Venice-Igoumenitsa, Ancona-Corfù, Piraeus-Crete, Piraeus and Aegian Islands.
